Wee Claddagh Ring

I found Rachael's old Claddagh ring, a gift from Granny, and put it on Lauren. I had forgotten how tiny it is but it's still a little big on her - which is good because then she has some time to wear it. Besides, L Mack didn't want to take it off.

Lauren, 9 Months
Can you believe it? She's already 9 months old! I was just looking at a picture of her in her car seat when we brought her home from the hospital. She was so tiny and now she barely fits in it!
Funny story: I couldn't remember if she was supposed to see the doctor at 9 months or not so I called the clinic and asked and they said, "Yes...you have an appointment on Friday." Good news and not so good at the same time...
She is still tall, in the 98th percentile! But she dropped to less than 5% in weight. :( So, we need to make sure she is getting enough to eat and The Doc said to bring her in if we think she's not gaining weight.
This is a good picture of her top tooth. She also has 2 crooked bottom teeth and her second top tooth sprouted in the last couple of days since I took this picture. (You can see the whole series on flickr.)
She's a speedy crawler and walking around the furniture and getting into stuff she's not supposed to. She's so cute and she makes all of these funny noises. She's so happy and so much fun. I love seeing that smile!

Lauren, 8 Months
Lauren is very mobile. She is crawling and pulling herself up to a standing position. Although, most of the time, she only manages to get upright on her knees and then starts YELLING for help.

Two bottom teeth seemed to have sprouted overnight which, I hope, is the reason her chin is so red. Poor thing...

She's also been very expressive lately. Very smiley, very talkative, and it's very easy to tell what kind of mood she's in because she will let you know!

She has a knack for finding forbidden and dangerous items and she also enjoys 'helping' Damon with his trains. Lauren is double-trouble and I couldn't love her more...

Perfect!
Poor thing was poked 4 times. She did alright with the first 2 but I could tell that the 3rd one really hurt...
She's such a cutie. Some people say all of my kids look alike but I think she's the cutest of them all even if she does have her dad's hands.

Rice, Rice, Baby!
Here are some pictures for the scrapbook. We've started Lauren on solids. Even though our pediatrician said we should wait until she turned 6 months, I thought she was ready - she was constantly reaching for anything that I was eating or drinking. So, off to the store to purchase some Gerber Rice Cereal. You can see what she thought of it initially:

She got the hang of it quickly although I think she really just wanted to chew on the spoon because, lately, she's just not happy unless she has something to chomp on.

She ate quite a bit for her first time. I look forward to introducing her to new foods! I might even cook some of those foods myself! ;)

I didn't get any good pictures of the other 2 because, frankly, they weren't as cute.
No, really. They weren't.

Lauren, 5 Months
I can't believe it, my sweet little baby isn't so little anymore. She's all round and solid and loud and squirmy...and ADORABLE.
She's rolling over, back to front and front to back! Which means I have to start keeping the floor fairly debris-free. :( She has also learned this spine-tingling screech (from daycare, I suspect--damn daycare!) which commands attention IMMEDIATELY .

And even though she's not a precious newborn anymore *sigh* I love-love that whenever she catches me looking at her, she gives me a big, bright, toothless grin.

Lauren, 4 Months
Lauren is 4 months old today! She had a doctor appointment and was poked 3 times! She did great. She is 12 pounds, 12 ounces which is the 32nd percentile. She is 26 inches tall which puts her in the 96th percentile! Tall, little skinny thing.
She hasn't quite mastered the art of rolling over but that's okay because she's so cute. When I give her a bath using Cetaphil, her skin is amazingly soft the next day. I just want to eat her.Labels: Lauren

L Mack's First Shots
Lauren did great! The first shot barely fazed her but the 2nd and 3rd injections really pissed her off!
She is 10.5 pounds which puts her near the 37th percentile and 24 1/4 inches long which puts her near the 97th percentile! Her "beautifully round head" is near the 50th percentile.
In conclusion, she's PERFECT! Even if she is flipping me off with the wrong finger while plotting her revenge...

Lauren, 2 Months
These pictures were taken seconds apart.
My Sweet Baby,
You are 2 months old today. Tomorrow you have a doctor appointment where you will receive your first round of immunizations. I apologize in advance for the pain and confusion you will feel and will undoubtedly express with your dark eyes and your deep voice.
You love attention. Rattles are amusing but nothing makes you smile like a familiar face accompanied by some cooing and other goofy noises. You love it when Rachael and Damon talk to you. You don't even seem to mind it too much when they hold you in an awkward position on their tiny laps.
Sadly, you no longer curl up into a little ball that reminds me of how you fit inside of me. :( But I love holding you and I love it when you fall asleep on me and we're tummy to tummy and I love-LOVE kissing your little head. You always smile or giggle as you fall asleep-probably recalling the silly humans in your world.
Thankfully, you have been pooping more regularly! I'm your personal cheerleader whenever you have a dirty diaper. I never thought I would be so happy to change stinky diapers. When you stretch your muscles, you grunt and groan like I do which I think is funny and adorable. You also belch like a grown man who just chugged a beer! You make your mama proud.
I love you; you little, pooping, belching, cutie-patootie!

Lauren, 1 Month
You are 1 month old today. You are growing so quickly. You are so solid around your middle and your thighs are getting fatter. Even with your baby acne, you are so cute and your eyes are so big!
You give Daddy big smiles when he picks you up. Your favorite place to be when I'm not holding you is in your swing. You sleep for nearly 7 hours at night! You are such a good baby! You are a little gassy and I hope you don't have allergies. You worry me when you don't poop for days at a time but the pediatrician says that's okay.
Rachael and Damon adore you. They constantly want to hold you, give you kisses, and feed you with a bottle. Damon runs to get your pacifier whenever you start to cry. My favorite thing to do is rub my cheek on your soft, warm head. I wish you could stay this small for a little longer...
